The Illinois São Paulo Chapter informs you, with great sadness, the passing of the Brazilian diplomat, Deputy Consul Cynthia Altoé Vargas Bugané. Minister Cynthia Bugané, as she was known, passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2019, in Chicago, IL. She had been a valued member of the Brazilian community in Chicago and the US, and a great supporter of Partners of the Americas cultural projects for the last three years. She will be greatly missed. Please keep Minister Cynthia’s family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time. “O Ministério das Relações Exteriores informa, com grande pesar, o falecimento da diplomata Cynthia Altoé Vargas Bugané, ocorrido ontem na cidade de Chicago. A ministra Cynthia Bugané, de 53 anos, exercia a função de cônsul-geral adjunto no consulado geral do Brasil em Chicago. Aos familiares e aos amigos da diplomata o Ministro Ernesto Araújo e sua esposa Maria Eduarda, em nome de toda a Casa, estendem suas profundas condolências e solidariedade.”
